Riyadh to host the first Saudi Rail Conference and Exhibition on November 20-21

Riyadh is set to host the first edition of the Saudi Rail Conference and Exhibition on November 20-21, under the patronage of Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR).

The event aims to showcase advancements and innovations in the railway sector, bringing together local and international perspectives on the industry’s future.

Minister Al-Jasser highlighted that the conference aligns with the Kingdom’s broader transformation in the transportation and logistics sectors, particularly the railway industry.

He credited the progress to the unwavering support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Al-Jasser emphasized that railways are essential for Saudi Arabia’s economic and social development, facilitating trade, tourism, and the movement of people, while also contributing to environmental sustainability by reducing the number of daily car and truck trips.

Strategic Vision for Saudi Railways

The conference is set to provide a platform for discussions on cutting-edge innovations and solutions in the railway industry, featuring over 200 local and international speakers.

With more than 200 exhibitors, the event will serve as a hub for networking and knowledge exchange among key stakeholders.

Dr. Bashar AlMalik, CEO of SAR, stated that hosting this event reinforces Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the transport and logistics sector, positioning the Kingdom as a global hub for railway operators.

The conference supports the National Transport and Logistics Strategy under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to localize advanced railway technologies and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s status as a leading logistics center.

Expanding the Saudi Rail Network

SAR’s railway network now includes three intercity lines: the North Railway, East Railway, and the Haramain High-Speed Railway, which was inaugurated by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in 2018.

Additionally, key urban lines, such as the Mashaer Train, the Riyadh Metro, and the King Abdulaziz International Airport Railway in Jeddah, contribute to the Kingdom’s comprehensive transportation infrastructure.

With a network spanning over 5,500 kilometers, Saudi Arabia is committed to building a modern, interconnected rail system that will play a vital role in achieving its Vision 2030 goals.
